Design Storehouse

Reveal the hidden histories of Kings Cross through a singular object

Brief
Based on the visit to the V&A East Storehouse to see objects in open storage, propose an experiential intervention for the London Kings Cross District that:
1. Uses a single historical object (explicit or implicit)
2. Interprets the local history of the area (see themes: Railways, Nature, Canals, Coal, Gas works, Grain, Housing)
3. Responds to a specific environment (see zones)
4. Engages multi-modal and multi-sensory learning
5. Considers audience interaction
The object is a replica and can be recreated at any scale. It must engage audiences and communicate a narrative that is not solely reliant on text.

Process
Phase 1: Research and Design Analysis (Absorb)
Phase 2: Concept and Design Proposal (Ideate)
Phase 3: Detailed Design Solutions (Develop)
Phase 4: Design Documentation and Intent (Present)
