Project: The City of York is riddled with hidden places, overlooked details and historical corners. In response to the York Curiouser project, create a design intervention, one that draws attention to overlooked nooks or crannies, architectural details, or stories that are just waiting to be told. Use words, marks, color, pattern, images, dimensional elements, sounds—most of all imagination and a sense of discovery and surprise. Thirty students from the University of California came together over a period of 24 hours with a budget of £20 to produce seven installations in response to the city of York from an outsider’s perspective. Let’s discover the city! See brochure for more detail.
