Project: The Oakland Aviation Museum was founded in 1981 and is housed in the historic Boeing School of Aeronautics hangar at Oakland International Airport’s North Field where Amelia Earhart made her last flight. The hangar serves as the primary facility of the Museum, providing indoor and outdoor exhibition space. The Museum has an extensive collection of objects, photographs and films associated with aviation history, including the World Airways archive, and material connected with famous aviators such as Amelia Earhart. Create design development responses for components connected with an exhibition about Amelia Earhart and her last flight—specifically, an overall graphic language and a participatory, multi-user “fourth screen” experience. Study the reference materials, and work in one of the following teams: 1) Graphics- exhibit graphic identity, 2) Spatial- physical exhibit design, 3) Media- screen based templates. Work with a total budget of $12,000 (materials and hardware) and utilize existing materials and objects available at the museum.
